little background:

i did this with the translator set for 650's and wot set at 0
supra sidemount
50 trim
25psi
pump gas
all season tires on stock rims
1.89 60' (not my best)
50 degrees low humidity
no afc, stock fuel pressure
2.5" exhaust

this was my 3rd ever run on the 50 trim

can't read the board but it was a [email protected] the 1/8th u can hear him say a 7.99 or soemthing liek that

25psi

thats probably not good

timing was 20 degrees at 6800 in 4th when i crossed the traps, i recently tore the motor down due to a timing belt snap, other than the holes in the pistons from the valves there was no sign of detonation and no wear on the piston skirts at 120k miles either

25 psi and pump gas are not mutually exclusive but with what looks to be zero tuning I'd be leary.

Congrats non the less.

i was having fuel pressure problems that night i think my return line was messed up i was overrunning the aeromotive regulator i coulndt' base fuel pressure below 42psi. i was running a hair rich (02s showing .96) but from what i could tell no knock in 4th even at 6800 (based on the timing i was seeing) and pump gas is 94 out here even on that little ic and that psi the upper pipe was still cool to the touch when i got off the track i was impressed

Well, i would still be leary, b/c my car at 25psi on race gas makes as much power as yours does with a big 50trim. So there has to be somthing wrong right? Im just saying timing does not always mean there is no knock. But it seems you have looked into it pretty well. And i would suggest you are running really really rich and as soon as you start to lean that out there will be your knock. Find a wideband, and you use everything you can to tune the car.

But congrats on the time, not to shabby for your 3rd pass :thumb:

I would definitly say she needs some more tuning, I am within 1 MPH with 5 less psi and a 16g...

oh i agree no one said i dind't, 3rd run out and timing belt broke 2 weeks later, i had tuned it a little more and would have probably went into the 11's as i was to run that friday (car blew up wed) oh well i'm not dwelling on what i could have done or what would have happneed wiht tuning 12.4 on a supra sidemount and basically all boost (no fuel control) is good enough in my book

also keystone is a pretty high track so

i also just noticed your et vs mph....mph to me doens't mean anything it's et

MPH means everything, ET is just how well you Launch and how fast you shift.

MPH is a true measure of a car's Horsepower....

how can you measure hp if you run 110mph on street tires yet 100mph on slicks?

physics says that as traction increases speed decreases because you're covering the distance at a faster rate....you can't measure hp off mph you can get an idea but it doesn't mean "everything"

here's an example:

friend of mine has a ws6 in 1 night he started out at 13.1@112mph, then wen't to a 12.8@110 finally he managed a 12.30@107 after running wrinkle-walls he borrowed.

based on what you're saying is he making hp to trap at 112 or 107? a 5mph difference at that level would be chanigng his hp like 50 when all he did was change tires (DROPPING his mph)

Don't worry about it too much. Seems everyone on here likes to pick apart people's time slips. When I ran my 12.9 all I heard was "OMFG I'm doing faster than that on pump gas!!" Blah, blah, blah. If you're happy with the time then be happy with it, only you know the exact circumstances behind the run so if you're not mad about it then don't let some guy from Canadia get you all upset either. :thumb:

only 2 things get me "mad" or "frustrated" on message boards:

1. don't talk about my mom
2. don't hit on my g/f

right now i don't have a g/f and mom jokes went out in the late 80's so i think we're ok :thumb:

Its almost proven that you loose MPH with slicks. Size of tire and everything go into that. But MPH is a very good factor in determining HP. But you are right its not everything, but id say what you did you are around 330-340awhp which is not bad. But there is more potential there. And i just saw you are running a Supra smic. Thats very good time and would defenatly be a sleeper on the road. So good job man, my post was not to make you feel bad but to tell you that it needs more tuning.

i know, but if you caught the one post i made you'll notice the timing belt snapped and took the pistons with it so there was no point in arguing about tuning when there's no motor in the car :thumb:
