What is the better choice a HX40 or a FP GT 35 without the ball-bearing older model???

I rocked the HX for awhile and loved it. It cheap, great spool time, and puts you in your seat man. Im sure you can find a cheap one on here or locally.

Go HX40, after months of research I decided on the holset, I picked up a fully rebuilt HX40W pro for 500 from turbodaddy.net .. Great guys to deal with.

I agree, HX40. Just make sure you oil it properly like any non mitsu turbo and do your research. HX40 in a t3 setup can flow as good as the gt35r. It has proven to spool as fast or faster than the BB gt35r's. Not to mention you can usually get one rebuilt hangin off the head for under $800.

My personal choice is going to be a hx35. I feel that it will be pepier in the mid range as opposed to the gt35. Just my opinion though.

My Goal is a fast spooling Turbo High Reps overall horsepower gain

I go along with the idea of getting an hx35 instead, as well. The stock t25 can maybe make 250whp. The bolton hx35 can make 250whp more :) It definately will provide the potential for an overall horsepower gain. It spools VERY fast. About 400rpms faster than the hx40.

+1 I love my HX35 the price was in my range and the spool up is very nice right around 3000. i got my tial wastegate and o2 housing and BEP and HX35 for 660 to my door just look around and you can find some nice deals.

The s256 ETT is a great turbo. The bolton version would be a good matching choice to a bolton hx35 too. The fp3052 is another bolton in the flow range.

Again, if you'll be happy with up to 500ish whp you don't need an hx40. Unless you're looking for solely pump gasoline power, since it has a larger turbine wheel.
