im just wondering which direction i wanna take my build since i am getting closer to having to make this decission. My motor wil have all the proper supporting mods to throw some serious power at it, i just need to know what you guys/gals think of the two turbos posted, or if their is any other suggestions please throw them my way. My ultimate goals are to ALMOST max out my setup. I dont have a way of tunning right now but will prob. go with ceddy mods seeing as how i have a 99...also keep in mind im not to worried about "driveability" considering this is not a DD...just the occasional cruise in. And no, E85 is not an option where i live. Thanks in advance.

Stock bottom end?

i thought i had everything in posted but i guess not, sorry. Eagle h-beams, arias 8:7:1, acls, balance shaft delete, arp head studs, cometic mls, manley springs ti retainers, bronze valve guides, 3g lifters, SS int. and exh, valves. Havent decided on cams yet, looking for top end due to the gst badge..LOL. Maybe some 280's?

Well if you think about it the cost of holsets are getting crazy...not just that but the housing and all the lines. they would prob run around the same...i can get a pte 6262 non ball bearing for around 900 ish bucks....a decent hx-40...350..bep housing if you can find one...250...theirs 600 right their. That doesn't include all the hardwear.

I also said if their where any other ideas to go ahead and throw them out. I have a Nice hx-35 my garage right now. But that will be traded for head work and its not the route i wanna go.

I have had just about every brand turbo out there, and the only turbo's that have lasted me more than 1 season are the holsets and a TDo6 20g!
BW turbo's are really good too if you would like to go with one of those. Something like the s362 or s366!

All in all im looking for ease of installation with very minimal if any modifications. This has been my first build, and its a slow process but coming along. Ive never dealt with turbos before and know nothing about them. I just want a turbo that is decently priced and that can make some power. Lag is not an issue because 1. Im to old to be messing around with hondas on the street. And two, this is a fwd eclipse. I will have a lsd eventually, but like i said....ease of installation, and massive power is what im going for. I will look into the borg warner turbos.

Holsets are super-durable, but I've really been impressed with what the BW turbos can do airflow-wise and spool-wise based on their size.

A Bullseye S256 or 258/9 in a DSM bolt-on turbine housing would be an excellent choice, and they're proven to have MHI / Holset reliability. A little pricey, yes....but the extended tip compressors will outflow anything in their size frame made by Garrett.

Holsets can be a pain to piece together, but once you get the setup down you'll be quite pleased. I've not had a single Holset customer who had a complaint about the performance and durability of the turbo they purchased.

i looked at some prices for bw turbos, and yes they are pricey. Theres just so many options out their its hard to decide. I looked for hx-40's and could not find a reasonably priced 1. Im the kinda guy that will wait around untill a deal comes a long though, thats why its been taking so long for the build LOL. I HAVE a holset h1e that needs a new compressor wheel and a rebuild, the only thing is the wheel has hit the housing a little..not a lot. I thought about rebuilding that and selling, but idk. The bep housing are hard to come buy, and a twin scroll is out of my price range. I thought about just using the holset exh. housing with a tubular manifold but i have heard that i will cause to mouch turbulence and mess stuff up?

I buy to much crap..LOL...i have that h1e that i took apart on a drunken rampage to examine the wheel...and it looks like serated scissors LOL, and i have a nice hx35. I just bought the hx-35 cause i got a good deal on it, and i have someone doing my mch work and head assembl for a straight up trade. I might just do that, i had someone contact me about a oem wheel...160 bucks shipped!!! But they sell em on ebay for 70. Would it be worth porting and going to a larger compressor wheel if its possible? I wish someone like sbr or extrem psi sold a kit for the oil return and feed...it would be so much easier LOL

The eBay wheels are not Genuine Holset.

If you're looking for good deals on takeoff wheels, contact High Tech Turbo. They do lots of upgrades for diesel guys and probably have 8-blade H1E / HX40 compressors on stock for good prices.

Don't bother going to a bigger compressor unless you think the 62lb/min 8-blade will not be enough. It will cost a good bit to get the compressor cover and backplate machined, and for the cost of the wheel, the balance work, and the machining you could probably get a good 6- or 7-blade HX40 core and go from there.

One word of advice. I recently broke a rear axle in my car. I have a welded diff, so i could drive home after the axle carnage. Just for fun i rolled into the throttle in 3rd gear and proceeded to smoke my front tires like they were cheap tires on a wet road in first gear, they are drag radials. I'm also only around 400 whp, i can't imagine making some power in a fwd.
