GST wing on a GS

I dont think there is a problem with putting an OEM wing on car... Who gives a shit if only came on turbo cars.... If that is the look your going for cool! Its better than about 99.9128% of aftermarket wings.

2ga's with the 2gb turbo wings look hideous, makes the car look so ricey. Do a 2gb conversion if you want it to look right.

It may look a little out of place, but to call it hideous is over kill.

To the OP if you think it looks good on your 2ga, then your golden!

Me personally, I think a 2ga with a 2gb turbo wing looks fine.

I have seen a bunch of 2ga's with turbo wings and they look like an egg on wheels. The only way it will look right is with a good looking set of rims, and a drop, probably a front lip too but why bother, might as well get a 2gb front instead.

Edit: also I would suggest having someone who knows bodywork fill the old spoiler holes in and paint it properly, filler and touch up paint like the OP said is just gonna add to the rice factor.

OP have you thought of doing a 2gb conversion instead of a high rise spoiler? Also, the gst and gsx high rise wing is the exact same.

I guess ill try it and if I don't like it ill take the wing off until I can get the rest of the conversion. I plan on dropping it anyway because I'm going to need new struts so ill just get coil overs.

well i got a 95 gsx,I have a turbo wing, but i personally dont like how it looks, because of the rear bumper. The 2gb rear bumper is more fatter then 2ga,and turbo wing just floats with it.

If you have a friend with a 2gb wing you should swap hatches with him temporarily to see how it looks, otherwise you will have another set of holes to patch up.

You should definitely lower it first. Stock height with the turbo wing adds to the roundness of the rear.

This front lip, with a good drop, stock taillights, and body colored door handles would look great. Maybe even see if you can find a turbo antenna that goes up and down to clean up the body.

You also said you are a fan of body kits, so add a set of sideskirts with all of this and you will have a sick looking car.

Here is an example with that lip I mentioned above:

That is the way to do a 2ga and make it look good and clean if body mods are your thing.

That sounds sick. But body kit side skirts with stock bumpers?

Well a stock rear bumper anyway.

The rear bumper will look fine as long as you have the stock low wing.

If you decide to go with the turbo wing down the road then I would do 2gb rear bumper if it doesn't look right, you could also shave the antenna since you will have to fill the old spoiler holes.

I put my spoiler back. I'm tired of bodywork. I must have spend close to $400 over time on paint, supplies. And in the end I could locate the filled holes from underneath an push them open with my fingers. I'm done messing with body work and such, I just want a clean bodied eclipse.
Please excuse my ranting LOL.

If you weld the holes, use a thin coat of body filler, paint, buff and treat the underside apropriately you won't have a problem. I did my 95 conversion myself in my home garage including the turbo wing, no problems.

Wow so much crap in this thread.

The high rise spoiler came on:

97-99 GST/GSX
99 GS OZ Edition
Didn't come on any Spyder whatsoever

Installing an OEM spoiler on any 2g Eclipse is not rice.
2Ga Eclipses do look a little weird with the high rise spoiler
Again, nothing about an OEM spoiler is rice

Like 98mistubishigst said, there will be holes to weld/fiberglass up. Primarily the ones on the rear fender/quarter panel area and the one in the center of the hatch which served as a route for the wiring of your third brake light currently in your low spoiler. You can weld these holes but I opted to fiberglass from underneath and then bondo and it worked out great with no leaks. I also removed the rear wiper and fiberglass that hole as well in the process.
