I've noticed now that after I boost for a bit, smoke will come from my exhaust once I shift to the next gear.

So for example, in second gear ill boost at 10 Psi till 5500 rpm. Then ill shift into third and get back on the gas and smoke comes out. It will do the same from third to fourth and fourth to fifth.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I have the same problem. I thought it was valve seals gone bad but I think its the stupid t-25 thats leaking. Those are like hairdryers once they heat up. I think its the turbo to be honest

Yeah I thought it was the seals too but now I'm not sure!

Its definitely not black so I doubt I'm running rich. Its white smoke from what I can see in my rear view mirror LOL

It can either be turbo BLOWBY which means you should just get a catch can perrin is like 100 bucks. Or just replace the turbo. Its ###### grey which means oilish .

Well, vlave seals cost ~30 dollars and a turbo is much more expensive. I would say it would be worth replacing the valve seals to see if it fixes the problem. The whole process should take no more than 4 hours. The very first time I turned a wrench on my dsm was to change the valve seals and it took me 4 hours. Much of that was standing back and scratching my head though. Lol.

Lol I suppose it couldn't hurt to start with the seals then. If its the Turbo then ill just start looking for a bigger one like a 16 g or something.

When my valve seals went it would smoke on initial startup as well. If you are only smoking under boost its your turbo. If you decide to run a larger than factory turbo, just keep in mind you won't be able to boost much and your car will probably be slower unless you upgrade your fuel system. The stock fuel pump and injectors is only good for about 16-18psi on a T-25. So if you plan on running a 16g you may only be able to run 10-12psi before you start running lean. 16g's don't really wake up until around 16+ psi.

And the only time you see smoke from valve seals leaking is after a cold start, when the seals have had time to leak oil into the cylinders. You probably have bad seals in the turbo or bad piston rings. I would bet on the turbo.

no my turbo is recirculated. so im gunna look for a stock 1g or 2g turbo and make sure thats the problem then ill go from there.
