Gst ECU

im having hard time passing the moniotors for smog test . i've searched and founf out that 1996 cars were the first cars intrtoduced to these monitors i have purchased a DRIVE CYCLE bulletin and car still says INCOMPLETE FOR ALL.

Would replacing the ECU with 97-98-99 GST fix it?

Is it plug and play for the ECU? or when putting an ECU from a newer car i need to mod something .i dont think it should since its the same engine and same sensors but hey you guys know more than i do help me out PLEASEE

9 times out of 10 replacing the ECU won't fix the problem, every time you disconnect the battery it resets the OBD system checks. If you had a way of monitoring your battery's voltage when your trying to start the car you might find it drops below 9.5v for 20ms, this will reset the monitors every time.

To answer your question about the changes that would need to be made if you did swapped to a 97-99 ECU. You MUST swap your spark plug wires to start the car and invert the CAS signal to get it to run smoothly.

well i happen to have digital battery terminals so i can see 13.v when car is off and 14.7 when car is on but like the monitors are INCOMPLETE but 3 of the CONTINUONS MONITORS like:

missfire
fuel system
and comprehensive are complete all 3 everything i run the software they are complete i dont think its the voltage drop than.
