ok i have a 97 gs-t that is idling at about 5000rpm's i've checked the flap in the throttle body and all the vacuum lines but still no change....my boost gauge shows -20 when idling at 5000 so to me sounds like boost leak but can't find it. need idle down to drive please help!!!! oh and car has fresh build with wieco pistons eagle rods and unknown cams...please reply with any ideas!!

If you can't find a vacuum leak, check the Idle air control valve.
Is it lighting your check engine light?

Check this plus your BISS, oh and just as a precaution it may be good to find what cams (duration and lift etc.) are in your car. :thumb:

it,s not throwing any lights and tearing it down now to find out what cams but i do know it's oem cam gears...and my idle air is new oem.

Check all your vacuum lines and check over everything that was done to it to make sure everything was put back right after the build. Is it a constant idle? Is it 5k cold or hot? Deff find and fix all leaks first.

i've checked all vacuums but currently going through the repair manual double checking....and the 5k idle is constant and cold...kinda scared to let it heat up at a constant 5k LOL

High idle could be many things , throttle cable stuck or needs adjusting. Something in the thread above could help, idle is a pita, Did you do a Boost Leak Test?

Check to make sure you don't have your idle switch screwed to far down. It could be holding the throttle open. What is your tps voltage or percent showing?

Ya know I did not even think of checking the TPS voltage. Honestly I would get a multimeter and check the voltage and also like just stated, see if your idle swithch may need adjustment
