i have a 97 gs-t just today i was being stupid and missed 5th gear, i ended up in 3rd and the rpms shot to red line, no big deal i thought.

but now when i try and go from a start (before the turbo kicks in) it runs fine, but once the turbo spools up (around 3500 rpm) the the motor lags or loses power and the boost gauge is really high, when i let off the pedal i can hear the blow off valve release. but still no power i checked all the hoses and could find nothing. now frustrated:banghead: and not wanting to spend money just to find out whats wrong with it i thought someone whould know what could be wrong

Reset your ECU, it may be possible you have retarted timing from the miss shift. Does it feel slower without going into boost below AND above the 3500 rpm mark you stated? Also what does "boost gauge is really high"

no the motor sounds the same, i just noticed it started to idle weird now too. if i would shift out of gear when moving it bounces up and down from 1000 to 1500

yes there is a loss in power in both the lower rpm and higher,

what i ment by the boost gague is high is that, it the gauge shows my boost go up, and instead of droping down to 0 like it should i just stays up, i changed blow off valves so i dont think thats the problem.

okay well i reset the ecu, now the is what happens: i start it up it revs up to 2k then to about 500 then back up to 2k then it dies. theres a rich smell like the mixture isnt right. i found a performance place up the road i will take it there

Just let the car run for like 20 mins or drive it for 50-75 miles. The ECU has to relearn everything so it is going to run like junk for a bit. Just take it easy, then after the 50 mile mark you should be able to tell the difference.

Report back after with results and details. Post a video if you have to.

okay so i fixed the problem

vacuum leak, blow off valve was messing up fuel mixture to fix needed aftermarket maf sensor also wiring was loose on s part of car which caused the car to die

i will post another video showing the fix soon

Yes, I was gonna say there is a vacuum leak. And the BOV need to be recirculated. It will run rich between shifts, making the car run like crap.
