hey my friend just bought a 93 talon es and he showed it to me today and let me drive it. well when i first started out i noticed that his clutch wouldnt start to grab untill it was almost all the way up like 75%, is this bad? mine grabs 1 inch off the floor, then when it does grab its sounds like a metal grinding nosie that is only present while the clutch is out, when i push the clutch in it goes away, also just so u know his 4th is pretty much gone too? so is it the clutch or tranny what do you guys think?

clutch is probably bad or it may be improperly adjusted, but i dont think that is the case, the tranny is also bad if he has no 4th gear and it may be the first gear synchros which cause the grinding noise

The grinding car (is that yours or his?) may be out of clutch.

A clutch should engage a fair distant from the floor. At the floor, the friction disk is getting thin.

his car! not my LOL, but when i start out in first its a whole different kind of metal rubbing or grinding sound then when i try to shift it to 4th its like a garbage disposal.
