So recently my first gear started grinding in and it seems I always grind into first and can't stop it. It's like it's still spinning and putting it in gear slows it.

The clutch is 500 miles old, new pressure plate, trans has 65k on it.

No other gear grinds.

Is this mt 1st gear synchros or clutch?

Do a clutch drag test. Where does clutch engage?
Clutch engages about 6 inches off the floor and engages fine when I'm stopped. Maybe I need to adjust it a little tighter. Will do the clutch drag test and well.

My rack blew up around the same time so it could have gotten fluid in there. Not sure, I would think that would affect all gears.

If you're sure the clutch isnt dragging, you can also do the following. From a stop put it in any other gear first. 2nd is usually easiest. What this does is different than being in neutral. In neutral the input is spinning. If you select any gear everything stops. Shift into first after selecting a different gear. If it goes easily and you are for sure the clutch isn't dragging I would say you likely have a worn first synchro.
