I know a car battery can power an led for a long long time, but I def want to figure this out before winter (my roommates car died alot in the chicago cold last year because of his radar detector). My new Greddy EBC doesn't turn off when the car is off.... the power is hardwired so that makes some sense, only problem is that when i went to start my car this morning after sitting for about a day and a half i noticed just a bit less start. With a 1.25 farad cap there should be plenty of power there (and it did start alot better when i put that in) but I don't want it dying in the winter
. Is the controller supposed to turn off? Right now it has the blue backlight and displays the current readout 24/7 ..... i figure in the worst case I'll hook it to the power on wire for the stereo, but id like to avoid that.
Also, do you guys think people would be interested in a writeup for the EBC?
I installed my Greddy TT and the parking wire works great, turbo timer turns car off like it should..... but I have it at the low setting with 20 seconds base timing. Ive never seen it run longer, but I always have about 5 minutes of fairly easy driving coming up to my house before I turn the car off..... is this normal? Should i give it a minute just cause?
Setting the TT is a pain too..... the display is semi-lacking. Anyone know if it will read speed in anything but KM/h? Why does it read 136km/h when im doing 40km/ht? Why won't it set when I try to (it displays the 40 and will either --- or go back to the speed after you push time)? any good manuals on how to use it better?
