I just recently changed my exhaust and put Greddy DT with Tsudo 4-1 Headers and OBX Test Pipe.

It sounds nice on low RPM's, but when she opens up it screams like rice. I guess its because of airflow. Should I put resonator on it? If yes, then where in the exhaust? Closer to the exhaust tip or to header pipe? Before or after Test Pipe?

Does resonator will help me to get rid of this noise?

The exhaust should already have a resonator on it. Mine does. And the car sounds like that becase of how much compression/air a 420A flows. A 4g63 never sounds like that because the low compression and turbo. My car will sound like that when its cold, but after it warms up, its just exhaust. I hated having that raspy sound.

Also, that test pipe may be giving you a little extra go, but its contributing to the rasp. Id say get a cat to drive around during the week, and use the test pipe at the track. Works for me.

probably not the most economical solution, but by far the most fun, increase the airflow into those cylinders as much as possible, porting heads, cams and everything and get that thing sounding more like a muscle car :thumb:

This.

the lack of a cat in the system is the main reason for your rasp. Put a resonator or a cat back in the system where the test pipe is and that should help greatly.

Yeah man...porting the head(s)? and the cams is a great way to improve power. After that look into getting some new muffler bearings and possibly a purple powerband to help spool your super turbo blenders after you push the NOS button . :thumb:

ROFL

Monday I will put back my catalytic converter. I will let you know guys how it runs. Also, I'm gonna try put silencer to cover the smaller pipe (tip) and see if this helps.

I would have a muffer shop weld in a resonator. That way it would still sound nice without you loosing any power.

i've got megan racing 2.5" piping and a 2.25" test pipe and it sounds nothing like a 4cyl

Im running a greddy 4-2-1 to a 3" custom downpipe, then running a test pipe to an Apexi N1 and mine sounds nothing like a ricer.

Silencer didnt help, it was even worse. I was suppose to take out the test pipe yesterday, but had to work. I must wait until Friday, then I will update you guys. I'm almost sure that test pipe is making the ugly noise.

Solved. I put back my Catalytic Converter. Greddy makes my car sound so sweet. Even on hard accelerating, car sounds so nice. No ricey or high pitch sound at all :).
