Yesterday, I was playing around in a old parking lot after it rained. I accidentally missed a shift , and revved the engine to 7,500k. Then car didn't feal right after that it'd build boost, but there was no power. The engine didn't sound different. But it did sound like the #1 cylinder was a bit more ticking going on. I putted home, and lined up the timing marks. Sure enough TDC on the crank was more like almost straight up on 0*.
I removed the cover, and the balance shaft belt fell out in my hand...Shredded! It was absolutely murdered. I don't see how the thing didn't just blow the whole timing. It only looked to be 2 teeth off When I got down to the belt.
I reset everything, and left the balance shaft belt off completely. I'm lucky I'm not visiting the motor man... I'd have to sell my bike or something
The engine sounds normal with a little more ticking then used to be. I'm praying. I may just go ahead, and get another engine to hold. I found a 6 bolt for 250 dollars that I could be rebuilding.
Now if I could only sell this transmission!
