I just seem to keep finding problem after problem with this damn car.
I was driving down my street to go somewhere yesterday when I heard a noise, it sort of sounded like a pop and I noticed my engine died so I put it in neutral and pulled to the side of the road, had my dad help tow it back to my house and I immediately took off the timing belt cover to check the belt as I thought it had broke. It was intact but I noticed the cam gears are way off alignment it looks like, so I am assuming they jumped the belt.
At the very least I have some bent valves correct? I am a bit scared to even check just because I know I don't have the money to fix this problem. I also believe my harmonic balancer needed to be replaced.
Does anyone have any opinions on what I should do with this car? What would be the cheapest/most logical way to go about fixing this thing? rebuild the head or get a new engine & how much do u think that would run me?
