Got to the dyno today...

So i just got back from the dyno and i thought i would share my numbers. Let me know what you think... my mods are in my profile but basically its a evo316g with 2g mas, 560cc, 255 walbro, acf2, punishment fmic, and 3'' exhaust.

On 25psi on pump i made 272whp
Then on the same tune with race gas i made 293whp
Then turning up the boost to 27psi i got 311whp and 315ftlb

Id like to make 300whp on pump consistantly so im thinking a meth kit for my next upgrade. I know most are gunna tell me to get rid of the afc and go with link or something but im happy with the afc for now

I wasnt logging durring the pulls, but im guessing quite a bit was being pulled. One of the downfalls of tuning with an afc...

I think it may be time for bigger injectors. I'm sure you were at the limits of those even at 25psi.

Yea your right, my idcs are around 90% at 25psi which i know is pushing it, ill be getting 650s soon.

The upgrade paths say that you can hit 275-300 on a 14b at 16psi, stock injectors, stock sidemount, and the rest of the OPs mods. I just don't see why any car should be under 300whp running 25psi. That seems waaaay off to me, esp. from what I've seen compared to all the other people that have been hitting the dyno lately.

What is peak timing? What dyno did you use? If you made that much more power on race gas with the same tune then your car is detonating like crazy and pulling timing. When you put the race gas in the detonation went away and timing was back.

I would not go WOT on pump with that tune. 25psi is way to much on pump gas expecially when you cant pull timing out.

+1. At least he's looking into getting a meth kit though, he'll probably be ok if he gets that set up right.

He's awd and keep in mind a 16g will SPIKE to that much boost but not hold it.

I'd say those are great numbers and he probably did not need the race gas to do them.



ps: VERY FEW people have made 275AWHP on a 14b. I DARE you to do it. Please don't take this the wrong way, but let me tell you, MAKING power is NOT easy. Take your car to the dyno and you WILL be disappointed

300whp on a 14b is not easy but can be done. You just need to know what you are doing. Meth injection or e85 and spikes of 30psi with lots of timing would make 300whp. Im about to swap off my 16g soon (hx40 8/12) and I may just try to do this. See what my e85 setup and a ported to hell 14b with welded wastegate can do.

I was thinking the same... Very interested to know which dyno was used. I thought there was no way to get a 16g to 25psi on just pump gas without detonating. I do say that with just the above mods mentioned those are some good numbers for awd. Good luck with the logger and tuning but just be careful if you run that boost daily.

I agree.. good numbers.. but def. go with bigger injectors. But becareful u still have stock pistons im guessing. Swap them out to 2g pistons, and go with bigger injectors.

Good job btw, i will also be getting a evo turbo soon, with forged rods and pistons, dsm link with eprom ecu, bigger injectors, dejon side mount (cause im keeping the sleeper look)

A 16g would spike at 25psi and probably settle down to about 20-21 (is my guess)
Making 275awhp on a 14b is no easy task, yet using meth, e85 or something of that nature can surely help out a LOT but not on just pump.

I'm not saying it can't be done on just pump but it would take a lot of work.

The reason i wasnt logging durring the pulls is becuase i dont trust my knock sensor/ logger, i got lots of phantom knock sometimes up to 41 counts when its absolutly not possible. I noticed recently that my lifters starting ticking so after the meth kit ill be getting 650cc injectors BC 272s and 3g revised lifters and hopefully that will put an end to my phantom knock

And i dont drive at 25psi daily, usually 18psi. Durring the 25psi pulls on pump we were listening carefully for knock. My buddy Ray Pampena dynoed it for me and has helped me out with the tuning along the way and i more than trust him with the car, if anyone comes from the 3000gt world im sure you know who he is.

Nope i do not. All the people on this forum can tell me my car will run like garbage without one and it just makes me laugh because i have absolutely no issues with the stock fpr. I know im not the only one out there without issues either so i dont know why so many people get bent when they hear walbro 255 and no afpr. As far as i know 1g awds dont have problems like the 2gs or fwds due to the shape of the tank or the pickup in the tank.

Those are good numbers on "the Heartbreaker" with stock cams.
