I know some of you may tell me to search, but I've spent the last two nights not sleeping in order to get my engine put in and all hooked up, and I'm too tired to really care. I just need options. I finally got to start it about 30 min ago. It fired up after cycling the fuel, but it's having issues and doesn't want to stay running without the throttle being held. I've decided to try the emissions delete again, and this is my first thought for why it's not wanting to run. Last time I pulled it all out, my car idled terribly. This time it's similar, and my boost/vac gauge reads the full 30 InHg of vacuum. I know I capped off all the throttle body nipples, blocked the EGR port, capped the two solenoids behind the intake manifold (and left plugged in), and the charcoal canister and all connected vac lines are removed. I don't know why else it doesn't want to stay running.
I didn't do a full rebuild. Bought a complete 6 bolt long block, but using the short block with a 2g head. The head got cleaned and reassembled with the only new parts being the valve seals. I didn't pull any of the rotating assembly out, and it still has the balance shafts installed.
My only other thought, is that the CAS needs adjustment for timing, which in the 2nd video, I attempted, but it shut off before I could do anything.

In the 1st video, it finally starts at 28 seconds if you want to advance to that time.

It's kind of hard to tell from the vid but sounds like a whistle noise like a vacuum leak some where. If you look over it again just be sure everything is connected. I have done that before when I was extremely tired and come back to it the next day and find it was something simple.

Not to sound like a jerk but everything is all hooked up nothing unplugged maf, vac line from brake booster.. pcv hose all the way on .. cas wiring? Just trying to rule out some things.

Should have the new coil tomorrow so I will update.

While I was at school, I decided I'd swap the coils around to verify the bad co was actually bad. Turns out that now ALL cylinders are firing and the coils are working. Nothing was loose when I removed them to swap them. However. My friend who was helping me out had me scrape off paint from the intake manifold (since I painted it) so the ground cable that links to the firewall bolts there. Could that have been a problem, even if it was bolted tight before?

After returning home from school last night, my buddy and I got the coils swapped, and for whatever reason, they both work now, so I’m letting that go at the moment. We also came to the conclusion that maybe the turbo wasn’t getting enough oil. I had the turbo fed from the head location since it’s easier to mess with, but I know it offers less oil pressure. So today I swapped the oil feed line to the OFH location, but I’m getting the same weird sounds coming from it as you can hear in video 1.

Video 2, you can hear the vacuum leak around the throttle body. Both flange gaskets are new, so would this possibly be the shaft seals? I got new ones last summer as I suspected them to be bad back before the 7 bolt broke down, but never installed them since I’ve never done it and don’t want to break the seals.

Video 3 is my new water leak from the turbo. Wasn’t there prior to this start up, and I didn’t mess with the water lines when I swapped the oil line. The sizzling sound is the coolant cooking off. The turbo is also running way hotter than the engine which makes me wonder if it’s getting cooled enough.

This is where my vacuum pressure is sitting at idle. It should be zero. Is this a good indication of the shaft seals needing replacement?

What port?? I've never seen such a vac line going directly from the manifold to the canister. Or are you refering to the intake pipe? If you're talking about the one to the intake pipe, that one is connected.

I just took the spyder for a real short drive around my apartment complex just to so what happens. The turbo is not making any power. Which confirmed what I had been thinking. Normally when the throttle is reved at idle, we hear the BOV function. Which I tried, but haven't heard it. So I'm out of ideas now. I'm gonna do a compression test tonight when I get home though.
