got screwed on cometic bore size!

well what had happened was that i bought cometic from a performance shop (south florida)
because im building up my 6 bolt. anyway i told the guy i nedded a .020 over gasket(85.5)
he assured me it was. when i got home i took it out of pakage and mesured it just to make sure...85mm(std) even,sh*t! well i left it on my table last night and my dog kinda chewed on it Nothibg major! i went back to the shop and told the guy to replace it , he said he couldent because it was opened and "scratched", so after 1hr of arguing, i was forced to take my loss... my question is , since it is metal, is it possible to bore the gasket that i have now that extra ".5"? thanks!

I dont see any numbers or engraving of any kind on the gasket, im 100% sure thats its a standard bore though.
