Hi guys, I'm pretty sure this is my first post after being a member for a while, I finally did it, I bought a DSM, 2g in good condition. I have a few noob questions.

Ok first off, the car is lightly modded and it can be seen here

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...d=1,1&item=4607045814&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT

I am picking it up this Saturday, Driving to Michigan, going to trailer it home

As you can see the car has some mods, turbo upgrade, FMIC, etc

The guy said the 1g BOV it has is leaking, and inconsistently. He said it would be best to upgrade it.

I was thinking of going with a Greddy Type-S running Recirc.

How will this mate up the 1g flange?? What can I do to make it fit? also what is a recomended site to purchase this from? dsmparts.com ?

I want to run recirc to avoid rich condition between shifts.

Any ideas? What does the 2g pipe look like? I am hoping for the easiest installation as I want to drive my new ride ASAP :)

He said he also has 720CC injectors in there, with NO AFC hooked up, wouldn't the car be running rich???

I'm just unsure of what to buy at this point to bolt the new BOV up, Should I drills some holes? or should I buy a pipe?

Performance and Relability > Price always.

Price is a slight factor, I just want a reliable BOV, no leaks!

Thanks guys! :)

Also, What should I do for a boost controller? Trying to go a bit cheaper on this... Halman MBC ?

Should I hook up the SAFC and try to put a base tune of like negative 38% on it?

Any ideas or comments would be appreciated, thanks again!

If your going with a manual boost controler, I have used the Hallman and it was a great controler. No problems. If you have the AFC right now, put it in to help with those injectors. Even if the MAS is hacked at all, the car is probably running rich. If you have a little money to spend, sell the AFC and buy DSMLink. You'll love it. As for the BOV, a crushed 1G will hold enough boost for most DSMers. I would pick one up cheap and throw it in the vise. ---That's a good looking car---

To answer your BOV question, you can just drill two new holes in the 1G BOV flange to mount a Greddy Type-S. I have that BOV and it works good. The new Type-RS is out now and suppose to be a little better. Overall you would be happy with either. Make sure you always recirculate it UNLESS you have a GM MAF-T. Do not listen to anyone that says you'll be fine venting. VFAQ for the BOV install http://herpetology.com/dsm/bov.html

I think you should wait till You get it, To see what your going to have to do....I was ready to buy parts before I bought my car, cause on the Ebay auction it said it sputterd....It dident sputter, But needed a whole new suspension. But the car has ran great since I got it, Iv done a few things, But now its great

Good choice for a bov, very easy to install like you want. To mount it to your existing icp, you will have to drill two holes onto your 2g bov flange. It really is not that hard just match up the bov on the flange, mark the holes, and drill them in. You don't need to buy extra pieces to make it work; but if you want to yes dsmparts.com is a good vendor. Greddy Type-S will not leak till over 25+ psi.

Yes you need some type of fuel management to control those bigger injectors.

I would skip AFC, and go straight to DSMLink, in my opinion 100 times better

Hopes this helps, Stay boostin.

If money is a problem. I would buy a Joe P MBC =$50 buck. And for your BOV problem I would try to located a 1g BOV in good condition.

Ok so Joe P MBC for the boost controller, Now for the problem of the 720CC injectors, What can I do temporarily until I get something like DSMlink? Should I hook up the S-AFCI and try to put a tune on it?

Did you say they make a Greddy Type-S BOV flange that mates to the 1g flange? I'm a little confused on that...

Anyone want to buy those taillights that are on the car? Make me an offer.

He said the 1g BOV is leaking, and Inconsistently... Does anyone find this to be likely?
Should I crush it and see if that helps?

I just want to get my car working right away so I can drive it...

Thanks again guys!

1. Yes if you have an S-AFC hook it up so you can tune those larger injectors. You will need a logger though.

2. I was saying you need to drill holes into you 1g flange in order for the type-s to bolt up to your 1g bov flange.

3. It can leak. Find the leak if it is the actually bov, go get the type-s or another 1g bov. You can crush it if you leak, but if it doesn't then just get a 1g bov or type-s.

Ok, I will do that then.

Someone said that for 720cc Inejctors I will need an Eprom ECU and I will need to chip it?

Logger as in www.pocketlogger.com ?

What PDA do you guys recomend?

How is this car running with no AFC with 720s????

Wouldn't it be SUPER rich ? Like 60 percent fuel too much?

I'm confused
