ok guys i have been looking for a inexpensive 1g for the longest time and i think i may have found it! its a red 90 plymouth laser rs turbo fwd with 143,xxx miles on it. the body is a little rusty on the bottom no rust on fenders. paint still shines nicely. interior is extremely clean not missing anything at all. the thing about this car is that it is 100% stock!!!!! still has factory exhaust still has stock shifter knob it even has the stock bov cover on it! ROFL right when i saw the engine bay i was blown away i have never seen a completely stock 1g ever! the car runs good shifts smooth no grinds. only cons are that the passanger side headlight does not go down. the motor for it might be bad. it has 4 pinky size holes in the roof which is weird LOL and the front bumper is like pushed in at the bottom looks like this / hes asking 3k cause its stock i think i can get him to 2k buy saying the things thats wrong and needs fixing. what do you guys think? should i do it? will post pics soon

$3g's ROFL:notgood: I would say $2g's is okay. Granted my RS turbo needed a title and a couple sensors (still ran), but it was STRAIGHT MINT! All stock, 109k original miles, clean title....... interior/exterior = OMGOMGOMGOMG.... bought for $400, sold for $800.

Ya..$3k is a way too much for a'90 with 143K miles on it and KBB only lists them tops at $2200 in showroom condition - even $2k is a little overboard.

I only did $1400 on mine in 2008 with 161K and it needed a belt kit done to it real bad...and I'm completely stock as well (outside of a replacement motor being done prior to purchase)

esp since you don't know if the motor was treated correctly and required maintenance is done on it.

Curious though: what does the "MDH" on the sticker in the door read along with the "build month and year" ?

Yea, you can get a headlight motor out at a yard to get that one 'eyelid' to work.

thx-DSM

A stock FWD Laser with rust for 3K? Yeah, that guy is off his rocker.

actually he wants $1200 LOL idk where i came up with 3k sorry here are some pics and i would personally like it to be stock. dont want to get a modded one and have to deal with the other persons problems and mistakes with modding but thats just me.

That's the exact price my buddy paid for his completely stock '90 Laser RS Turbo a couple years ago. It only had 70k on it, but the paint was crap. $1200 isn't ridiculous, but I think you should offer less then that for the mileage.

that mileage is low for a 20 year old car, may not be able to go much lower if they know the demand for the car.

i didnt take an engine bay pic but i am going back to see it soon i do have one of my 99gst when i first cleaned it out ha

Oh don't get me wrong, I would be willing to pay $1200 for that car if I were the OP and it came down to it. I just think he could get it for less. It's ultimately not what a car is worth to others, but what YOU are willing to pay for it. That being said, if you are willing to pay $1200, that's not a ridiculous price. As I said before though, I would offer him less then that if I were you. I would aim to get it for around a grand since it looks like it's in pretty decent shape and is unmodded.

Actually, you can take that bumper cover off and either straighten out the lower valance support - being that's only sheet metal - or get another one from a yard, or buy new one. then you can put that same bumper cover back on and it'll be alright.

Mine, the lower part, was all pretty twisted from hitting curbs, thus I pulled my bumper cover off and replaced that valance frame from one that I pulled from a yard. Only bad thing about these DSM's - they ride a bit on the low side...LOL .

And there is a goose-egg blemish dent in the driver's fender it seems. That can be pulled out with a bathroom plunger real easily.

yep, 16inch steelies with plastic hubcaps for this turbo .. and the color is "Flash Red".

did you try to push the button on the dash to get the 'eyelids' down?

Pretty danged clean for $1295.00 ... been garaged all of its life since the paint looks real good and healthy.

ya the dent on the fender is pretty big...ya i pushed the button but the passanger side headlight wouldnt move driver side works perfect. the color of the car really stands out when you see it in person. not faded anywhere like some 1gs ive seen i want it for $800 out the door LOL

I think u should buy it because if everything is all stock even down 2 the shiter knob LOL u know the guy did not beat the mess out of it and was not racing it.
I had read on the net same that dsm with factor turbo still on it can run up tow 150xxx on it than u will have 2 replace the turbo so in my opinion i would buy it its a great steal if u can get it for that price

DSM for life LOL

Your post hurt my brain. WTF

This post brings back memories. I bought my first DSM from Biggers Mitsu probably right across the street from the lot where you are looking at that one at. I got my 1990 Laser in 1999 with 59k miles on it, bone stock. Super, super clean too. Here's a pic after it was lightly modded.

Sorry about the bad pic. Only one left of this car that I could find.
