New to the Forums and had a quick question on parts.
Before hand I'll start by saying I have a 1998 Eclipse RS (420A). I got it about 2 weeks ago and have done some work to it already.
List of Things Done:
New Battery
Bosch Iridium Plugs
New Plug Wires
New Air Filter
New Fuel Filter (yet to be installed)
New Radiator
New Upper Hose
New Thermostat and Gasket
Flushed and Added New Coolant
Added Seafoam on First Fill Up
New Bumper (being delivered Friday)

I am looking to install new I/H/E.
I had seen on the forums to look on EBay. Is this header a good one/worth the price? [ame=http://www.ebay.com/itm/170723453410?redirect=mobile]Eclipse Talon 1g 2 0 DOHC Non Turbo Stainless Exhaust Chrome Header Gasket O2 | eBay[/ame]

Any suggestions for new I/H/E?

The real megan racing would have a band around the 2nd runner that says megan racing

Did some looking into this claim and found it incorrect. The Megan Racing exhaust parts say Megan Exhaust on them and it is on a metal plate which looks to be welded to it (shown in picture).

Header from Megan site: Megan Racing

Header from eBay: Megan Racing T 304 Stainless Steel Headers 95 99 Eclipse Non Turbo 4 1 | eBay

So now the question:
OBX headers for $184 shipped
or
Megan headers for $153 shipped

Hear is what you need to know
4-2-1, generally more expensive, better mid range torque, best for daily driver
4-1, generally cheaper, better top end, better for building a race car.

As far as brands I like the DC 4-2-1 header, I prefer the Megan 4-1, but mainly because the only thing I would trust OBX with is my radiator hoses (and even those had a shitty fit).

Well since its just a RS and my DD that I'm looking to just fix up a little and help me save gas I'll probably go with the 4-2-1. I'm going to do minor things to it and look for a cheap GST or GSX to fix up real nice.

Are the DC headers worth the $350+?
Could I get away with the cheap 4-2-1 I have in the original post? What downfalls would the cheap ones have? I know the welds may be crappy so if that is an issue I'll get it fixed no problem. But what else could go wrong since they are cheap?

It's a piece of metal not much to go wrong with besides cracked runners/flanges which obx offers a lifetime warranty on any manufacturer defects. That's why I suggest them. But the Megan one will work too. I've seen more people run obx and Megan compared to pacesetter. Only problem I've had with a cheap manifold is the flange surface needing to be trued because of a small exhaust leak. And that's easily fixable it happened to me after almost 2 years.

Personally I would not spend 350 on a manifold that's how much my whole exhaust cost minus the header and downpipe.

Ok thanks. I think I'm just going to go with the cheap 4-2-1 in my first post and fix any problems that arise if any do. I'll try and review them too in the reviews forum.

The original post one worries me if I am being honest, it says its for a 4g63 NA, which is a completely different engine than the 420a. (then again its always a gamble with eBay)

Is the DC worth the money? Depends who you ask, and how you define "worth the money" If you could find a cheap 4-2-1 and wrapped them, I think you would be happy. However I dont think there are many cheap 4-2-1's out there for the 420a (then again I havnt looked in years for one)

It says for the 4G63 in the 1G. In the description it says it fits the 2G 420A. I know it's a gamble when buying a lot of stuff online. I guess I can spend the $160 for the Megan headers but I figured if I could save $85 and possibly get a decent product why not do it.
