You can't really go wrong with an intake. The only thing I would worry about is the filter and where it sits in the bay.

It's in the E-bay description.

" BYPASS VALVE
Prevent hyro-lock
Consistent Air Flow
Prevent water from entering into the motor"

i got a K&N Intake pipe that came off of my 98 420a for sale if you want it. lost the filter though.

On my old Civic I had a CAI that could easily be shortened into a short ram (Some can't because of weird bends). As far as running into puddles where you could hydrolock, it wasn't ever a problem. However we rarely get out of season rain, if I knew it was going to be raining I could shorten it.

The only thing I can say about a short ram vs a CAI is there is almost no real power difference. In all honesty, the only reason I made the switch is the CAI was cheap and a real K&N as well as sounding a lot better than the short ram. The power gain with a short ram is down low and less overall horse power vs the CAI having more power up top and overall.

Should you buy it? Probably not, a short ram is cheaper and will give you the same noticeable effect. Even going from totally stock to having every bolt on upgrade you can get you wont notice much if anything at all.

The biggest difference between intakes is the size of the piping. Other than that I'd really look at how it is routed around the engine bay. Best way to figure that out is to simply try to google eclipse/intake brand. The reason I say is simply because it's nice to know if it's going to make working around it a pain in the ass or if it will make your engine bay look like this... since it does not really do more than look pretty.

I ran that CAI on my 420a when i first got it years ago. It was the best mod for my N/A only noticeable difference is throttle response and little better acceleration. But unfortunately these kits dont have mounting brackets on the pipes so youll need to get a bracket welded on or itll be only attached at the throttle body.

Friend of mine use to have the AEM kit. He loved it! Had great response and install was a breeze and it had brackets to mount it. Not quite sure I can price vs this intake. His did not have a bypass port valve thing in it. But it was a great intake.

Air filter is an air filter. LOL I doubt if you run K&N vs Spectre you'll see a big difference
All filters are not created equal. I would definitely invest in a K&N filter. I had a no-name filter for a while, and the mesh holding the filter paper in place rusted and fell apart in no time.
