I am interested in buying a cold air intake but where I live gets alot of rain so what is the best thing to do not to let water get in the filter.

if you are worried about it just get a bypass valve for your intake, aem offers them. If water ever gets into your intake, vaccuum immediately stops in the lower section of the intake and it instead gathers air from a location higher in the piping closer to the intake manifold.

on my 420a (when i had one) i just bought an obx one off of ebay, i really liked it and it was an awesome working and looking upgrade. In all honesty its really just a pipe and there isnt huge differences between different kinds. Some designs may be better but most importantly it has to pull air from a colder place than the engine bay. I dont think the aem is worth forking over the extra money.

something like this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7928419673&category=38634) seems to be pretty standard and of decent quality(i like the beading around the ends of the pipes) An AEM could cost you 200 bucks or more...

yes i would i have an ebay cai with an aem bypass valve get the 2.5" one since mos ebay cais have that measurement

It will be coming with a brand spanking new air filter so no cleaning kit is neaded....Noobs :p IM JUST KIDDING ....not really i'm not, yes i am.

hehe :p

What I mean is that for later when the filter get dirty would any cleaning kit be ok for the ebay cold air intake.

imho i would rather loose a little hp then loose a whole motor to vapor lock

i hit a huge ass puddle( which cosisted of the whole road so there was no way around it) and my car stalled out it scared the shit out of me and i just lucked out that i didnt vapor lock then i really would have been screwed just aske john he was there :D

if u dont want to hydrolock ur motor get a air bypass valve and when u go throught a puddle just let off the gas to stop sucking in as much air :dsm:
