Just finishing the setup right now and welding up my FMIC pipes.

Going to dyno at the end of this week.

I have a 99gst, and just finishing up my 25x7x3 core FMIC and 2.25" piping along with a small 16g FP ported and 34mm flapper.

I have all the supporting mods(550, 190pump and afc) 3" exhuast, 3" high flow cat, 1g TB and rre elbow, up pipe, etc....evo ported o2 housing, 7es plugs.

I will dyno it up to about 20psi, and i am looking for 300whp with 91 octane and xylene(to give me about 96-98octane)

Think i can do it? I am seeing all these new evo3 dynos over 300whp and i am very impressed, i hope the small 16g can compete.

The only thing that keeps my hopes up is that guy that dynoed 319whp on a small 16g AWD up in colorado that posted a few days ago....

I got my own wideband, and i will use the dyno wideband as well for tuning.

the cat and the 34mm flapper are all that may hold you back. take that cat off and i bet that you'll be right there!!
also, how's the setup coming along (FMIC, turbo)?

the pipes are done, now just gotta go smog the stupid thing before i throw it all on, gotta smog it stock turbo, LOL....hopefully today or monday

The high flow cat i really believe doesnt affect power that much, its a full 3" cat, its huge, its used on 500whp+ v8 cars with no restriction, i really dont think its gonna restrict it much

Also, the flapper, was done by FP and ported as wel, and when i looked into the wastegate hole, it wasnt ported out totally round, maxed out, it was only ported out a bit more on 1 side to let a bit more exhuast exit, so i think they kept boost drop off in mind when porting it, i dont think its gonna open under high boost, and i can always put washers on the actuator to create more pressure

I really hope it hits 300whp+, that would make me very happy

AMS feramic clutch is going in next

true, but it may be a 530hp v8 with out the cat....j/k. i am putting my feramic clutch and act flywheel in soon as well. looks like the feramic clutch is finally catching on a little! i think/know that 300hp will be possible with your setup. just make sure you fix all the boost leaks that you WILL have with the new setup and do some tuning with the wideband....good luck! can't wait to hear the numbers.

You would be surprised in the difference of the high flow cat versus the testpipe. I have a very similar setup as yours. And when I throw the cat in for inspection time, my car sucks to drive. Slower response, longer spool up, and less top end. On a t25, the difference betweeen a cat and tp might not be as noticeable. But on a bigger turbo, there's a big difference.

I had hopes just like you to make 300whp on by big16g at 20psi on 93oct. I made about 280whp. I think my stock clutch is slipping. So with upgraded clutch, running some 104oct, and better tuning, I think I'll be able to do it.

With your setup and the cat; I'll say you hit 270whp, maybe 280whp since you're running higher octane gas. I bet if you took the cat out, you'd gain about 10-15whp. The guy who did like 319 awd wheel horsepower on the small 16g; that doesn't happen often. Good luck and post up your results.

heh good luck to you :) I was surprised as hell when i got 311 on my EvoIII turbo when i was expecting 280. Let us know the results :D
