Godspeed external wastegate and a few related questions

I picked up a godspeed wastegate in a package deal the other day and I was wondering how you guys that are running them like it?

I was also wondering about boost control with the 7 psi spring. I run a tial now with a 14 psi spring. With my mbc the thing holds steady boost untill about 21 psi. Then whenever I go higher it will spike and go back down to 21 psi. I was told that even with a MBC you really cant run more than 1.5 x the spring setting on an external wastegate. Is this true?

I could not find any stronger springs for the godspeed wastegate which is why I am asking.

i would take the godspeed apart and see if the tial spring is the same size. If it is you are in luck because you can get whatever tial spring or combo that you want for desired boost.

And yes it is a general rule of thumb that you cant go more than double the wg spring pressure when running a MBC, but not everyone has had exactly the same results, as everyone has different setups. Some people can get more, some get less, but its always better to try to get a spring that is rated close to the pressure you want to run because it will only make things easier. IF you need to boost less than that, then dont press the gas down as hard!

ok, are the springs the same size?

I wouldnt know. I am in Iraq and the wastegte is in tx. I was hoping someone was using this exact wastegate so they could tell me how they like it. I am pretty sure the springs are different. The godspeed is likt the turbosmart ultragate.
