Alright this is about my 1995 Gst
:boring:
i just bought a 14b and going to put it on my GST

first Question is about the shaft play it has, i was told it didn't have any when i bought it
but it turns out that it moves up and down quet a bit, so how much is to much?
when i pulled my t25 off it had hardly any and my car has 138kmiles so would ya rebuild it first i really just want to put it in,

secound Question is the Exuast side is cracked a lil where the wast gate flapper is
i have read that it is pretty common so should i just not worry about it ???

i took the 14b to some guy that owns this turbo shop localy. He looked at the shaft play and then saw that my exaust is cracked he told me that my turbo is trashed that the turbo wouldn't last 20 minutes with the shaft play it has then he told me to put my Garret t25 back on that i could get the same power out of that as i could the 14b.
he pretty much pissed me off  bc he thought he knew everything and told me that my 14b is the SAME as my t25 WTF and that i wouldn't get any power gains, So should i just :barf: about what he said

Last Question is i need to find a Oil Line that works for this swap 14b on 2g ?

any links would be great

Thanks

the 14b will push WAY more power then that t-2 small.if the fins are touching the housing,it needs rebuilt.im not sure what the specs are on turbo play, but i would just play it by ear.most turbos that are 10 years old are gonn ahave cracks.but if its not too bad,go with it.you can always get another exhaust housing.rebuild kits are like 100 bucks for that turbo so its not too awfull bad.i believe you have to get new oil and water lines, because the t25 has a garret center section opposed to the mitsu on the 14b.just ask the 2g guys on here.

I would say if the compressor wheel is not touching the housing when you move it then go for it. That guy "some guy that owns this turbo shop localy" you talked to doesn't what he is talking about. I installed the 14b from my 90 GSX on my wifes' 97GST about a month after we got her car. Currently she has a B16g. The difference between to two was night and day. Boost held on alot longer with the 14b then the T25. Plus, if pulled alot harder when comparing the RPM ranges to both the turbos. I currently have the stainless steel oil feed line on the B16g but I used the stock 14b oil feed line (feeding from the head) when I had the 14b on her car. The cracks in the flapper area are common but make sure they are not too bad. Just inspect it to imagine the air rushing through there, picture if it would leak due to the crack. If you can see through the crack then I would say its too much.

Good luck.

alright cool
yeah doesn't seem like its touching when i spin it, so im gonna go ahead and put it on
last question is. I noticed that my wast gate Flaper is not Seated Right on there so it leaves a lil opening on one side OMG can i go to a bigger flapper how do i fix this and where do i get the parts ??
