I bought a tial bov for my new vrsf kit so that I wouldn't need to upgrade in the future. And right now I'm on a stock maf, venting to atmosphere. (havent drove it this way, dont worry!! Lol) Now I know venting is not good without SD...

So my question is should I buy the recirculation bottom for the tial and use stock maf for the first tune.

OR

can I jump to speed density on first tune.... I don't really want to buy both. And I did read that it's easier to tune SD once stock maf is tuned. So I need a little advice on what would be best...

Thanks in advance.!

*will tune on v3 full.
*evo316g.
*Vrsf short route
*fic 550 and Wally 255 (will be installed for tune)
*stock 98 Gsx otherwise.

SD is much harder to tune than a Maf.
If you won't be doing the tunning, then I'd suggest SD...if not I'd stick with the MAF first.

I think you are confusing a MAF and a BOV (or maybe you are just confusing me LOL.

The BOV should have nothing to do with your decision on whether or not to run SD; there are other considerations that are much higher up the priority list.

I personally would recirculate the BOV no matter what the airflow setup, as you'll probably get better response during shifts due to the BOV helping to keep the turbo spooled. At least that's the way it's always worked on my car.

I'm NOT doing the tuning. It would be JS Dyno in pittsburgh. SD would clean up the engine bay. I'm tired of the huge snorkel in the bay.

Best decision... Install SD and tune.?
If so, all I need is the bundle on ecmtuning.?
