I have not seen any forums with this so here it goes... Im thinkin on doing a GM MAF conversion. From what I read, you need a maft so your ecu can read the different signal. Instead of getting a Karmen signal, it has a gm signal(whatever they use). I have an safc, so it lets me choose which signal is being input, and the car wont run if its on the wrong one, so can I just read a diagram of Gm wires on the gm maf(signal, hot, ground) and connect to the same wires on mine? then tell my safc which signal to read?

The maf translator already does all the work for you. why re-invent the wheel? Now if you come up with some way of going around the translator box. Post it. I'm sure it would be interesting to see the results. I am running SafcII and gmaft myself. I don't see how to get around the translator.

The SAFC just reads the signal, looks up the correction, modifies that signal, and then outputs it. It will not convert the signal from the GM MAF to Karmen.

You need a translator any time your use the GM MAF in our cars, unless you are using ECMLink V3.

definitely going to need the translator, the safc will make things more convenient though because you can fine tune with it, and get your car running perfect.
