To vent to the atmosphere properly you need to do a GM MAF blow through set up. This way the computer meteres the air after after the BOV, enabling it to not run rough or rich. yes GM maf and DSMLink will work together. If you do the blow thru setup then you should get 2.5in upper intercooler piping w/ couplers to 3" for the GM maf. If you dont go w/ the blow thru setup, stay w/ non Venting BOV, and use a 3" GM maf, Maf translator, and 3" in take pipe w/ a 3" to 2" converter to hook up to the turbos intake.

Like this for the non blow thru setup, i think its called draw thru setup.

first of all, if your not in a blow through set up, venting will hurt your performace badly, but if you are, ive always figured venting it will allow the bov to get rid of more of the pressurized air faster, so the turbo is more protected i guess, but spool up will be affected,....

better, if you leave the GM maf on the turbo's intake. you will also need a Maf Translator

Care to elaborate?

I suggust mounting the MAF as close to the throttle body elbow as possible. This way, your registering the air doing directly into the throttle body and head.

If you put it on the intake side of the turbo, you have 10 feet of IC piping that can leak. Even if a bit of air gets out, it can result in your car running rich.

Personally, I'd mount it between the BOV and the throttle body.

I meant its better to have the BOV in recircultation mode when using a draw thru setup. i was not saying that a draw thru setup was better period.
sorry for the misunderstanding

ok this sounds stupid but dam.. i am alot faster venting and i am pretty much stock...see what i do i slightly gap the tube were it meets on the blow off valve.. so i am recurculating and venting at the same time... i only do this on races on daily drive i tie it down... and for those of you who are going to give me an hour expanation on why i am an idiot.. and the whole unmetered air explanation... I KNOW! but will some 1 please explain to me why i am faster this way?? trust me its proven i wasted a tank of gas doing test runs with 2 of my friends car. a whole sunday.. and the power gained was dramatic.. to make a long story short i would loose to my friends gs-r by 3-4 cars! and he has invested over 3k on his car ,, then i gap the thing and i beat him by 1 1/2 cars! WTF .. next car my friend mustang GT 2002 he beats me by 4-5 cars running normal then i gap the bov tube and he still beats me but i am on his rear tire way from the start to the end!!.. i know this is retarded by the hp gain??

might there be somthing wrong with my car to make it run like that??

You dont gain any performance by venting, and pulling in unmetered air usually makes you run like shit, you just might be getting lucky. Venting is just more of a preference thing, if you like the sound, go for it, if not, you aren't missing anything. The only advantage of having a blow through venting setup is that certain BOVs (mainly Tial) cant be recirculated, so you'd be better off if you vented to get a good BOV, but again, you aren't missing anything or missing any performance.
