ok now for the question. i was loking at engine bay pics and i know noticed that most of the gm mafs are on the upper intercooler pipe. i also noticed that some are replacing the stock maf. i would like to get the big maf out of the way. thats is why i want to look into it.

1 what is the pros and cons
2 is it worth it.
3 is it something i should have
4 if my upic is bolted to the elbow would i have to cut it and put the gm maf in.
5 what is the main difference between stock maf and gm maf
if you guys can send any links just let me know.
im new to this whole tuning thing as if my car is my first dsm

1 what is the pros and cons
-The GM can read much more air accurately (although stock is more than enough for your setup)
-GM MAF allows BOV Vent to air

Cost and calibration issues are downsides.

2 is it worth it.
Not on your setup
3 is it something i should have

No, you don't need it

4 if my upic is bolted to the elbow would i have to cut it and put the gm maf in.

It needs to be in the upper IC pipe after the BOV...so look at your pipes and you'll know if you need to cut out a section and buy some couplers. 99% chance the answer is yes.

5 what is the main difference between stock maf and gm maf

The GM MAF uses a different type of sensor which works well in blow through applications, allowing the BOV to not be recirc'd. The GM MAF can read a lot more airflow than the stock MAF (About 50lbs/min vs 80lbs). Considering your setup is flowing <40lbs, the GM MAF wont really benefit you.
