Hey, just wanted to give everyone a heads up and let you know that they are now accepting payments for the stickers. Take this link In memory of Wendy Pate - Mitsu-Media . There are instructions there to make the payment. Be sure to read through them and follow them to help avoid any delays in getting your sticker(s).

Havent been on in awhile and this was the last thing I wanted to hear when I did come back. Condolences to Brad and family. Im glad i was able to play a small part in this and am waiting to see video of the "car that tuners built" hit the track. RIP!!!!

If you haven't done so pick up atleast one of the decals being sold on Mitsu-Media.cm forums. They are only $5 and all the money goes to the Pate's.

I personally placed my order for one of each style they are making and plan to keep atleast one of them on my car for as long as I own it.

Shewww,

This has been a really tough week for myself and the boys. Brent, the oldest is so angry right now. We all feel so cheated because she was just so young. For those of you that arent real sure. LIFE ISNT FAIR!!! I miss here every second of minute, of every day. I have caught myself several times trying to pick up the phone and call her. Her voice is still on the answering machine.

Wendy wanted to obtain her goal with her car and you guys made her strive as long as she did and I cannot thank each and everyone of you that is or has been involved.

Jayracing sent some beautiful full windsheild banner in pink. I will place that on the front. Top left hand corner will be place "Im loving memory of" then the large Girlieracr4g63 under it.

I would of course love to have the car painted but I am done asking for things from people. Who knows maybe a local body shop will get word and want to complete the car. The cage is welded in and it has been so cold that I have to hang a light in the car to get the paint to dry. Hopefully it will be all assembled today with the seats and harness.

Adjusted all the coilovers and the car looks incredible. Cant wait to show eveyone. I have been really trying to finish what she wanted done. It will happen. Ten sec pass soon to come in 2010.

See you on the other side Wendy Girl! I love you so much! Please watch over me and the boys.

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

Definitly shout when you are taking the car out, a few of the local guys want to see it run.

I will definately let everyone know. It has tags, insurance, and inspection. This car is a Busa killer. After suspension adjustments and getting the car lower the feel is so much better. I did a 3 to 4th pull and it took all I had to hold it together. Its a BEAST.......2300 lbs and 545 hp. Its going to get some track time (seat time) for getting if out the whole and NLTS through the rest.

I may drive it out tomorrow night to import night if its not too cold.

Brad

Brad, I think it would be absolutely amazing for her car to make it to Shootout '10. I'm seeing a gorgeous, two-tone dark pink and black street/track beast.

Wendy was and still is a true DSM legacy. I'm ordering 2 sets of the Wendy vinyls later this week. One for the DD and one for the GST once it gets to Pa.

The last event / meet that Wendy was well enough to make was the Showdown at E-Town. I personally know how much that event ment to her for many reasons. I will do everything in my power to have that car at the Showdown @ E-town II. Even if we have to drive to NC, load it in our trailer and bring it back up here.

I wish I would have been lucky enough to run into her when I was over by you guys Saundra. I may have even walked right by her not knowing it was her. That's why it's so important that this year we not let dates pit us against each other and instead use big meets like the showdown and the shootout to meet the poeple we read and hear about on here and other sites. If this shows us anything is that even the best of us can fall at any time :sosad:

Wondering why you yanked the panel under the driver's side dash but left the glove box. Heck, that's what a center console is for. Lol. When I had my last 1g, I yanked that, and all the a/c crap up under there. I see you're trying to save weight so dunno why you'd be keeping that in there.

P.S. Sorry to hear about Wendy. Just noticed that she passed away. Really hate to hear it.

AMEN ! :aha:

I am very sorry to hear about Wendy!! I am new to the dsm community and don't really know her but she sounds like a very wonderful and special woman!

My wife's mother passed away from cancer when she was 6 years old and remembers all the bad stuff her mom when through. My grandmother passed away from cancer when I was young, so I know this is a very hard this is on both you, her, and the kids but, always remember the good times and be strong. My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family!

God bless you and your family!!

Probably for leg room I have to do the same thing in my car

LOL Brad is pretty tall. I'm sure the extra leg room doesn't hurt.

Sick Car!!! I bet that thing Is just down right scary to drive. Sorry for your loss, I bet she is smiling down at you and your kids every day.

Brad, i am truly sorry to hear the news. I am one who believes everything happens for a reason, i cannot for the life of me think of why this had to happen to a person of her caliber but im sure there is one. My thoughts and prayers have been with you since i first heard about her goals. Please do keep us up to date as you have been. And if there is any big meet you guys have down there let us know. I would love to drive down and have a big DSM group lining the rails to see the pink machine take down whomever rides against it.

Wow, just wow...

I had been following this this for a bit around a month ago and forgot to check it for a few weeks, now I just feel horrid!

I'm completely broke and just got laid off - but you can bet I'm spending the money to rock one of the stickers!

I never knew you or wendy Brad, but I can tell without a doubt that Wendy in no way deserved what happened to her. Theres no explanation why this stuff happens to such good people.

I just lost my Grandfather and I lost another Grandfather years ago to cancer. It is NOWHERE near the pain you are feeling. I don't even know what I'd do if something like this happened to my girl. I'd probably just give up, go take a drive and not come back. I'm nowhere near as strong willed as you two were.

Brad you as well as Wendy are one of the strongest people there are - you managed to deal with this and turn it into something amazing. Wendy may be gone, but because of her and yourself you truly brought together the community here at DSMTuners, and made me proud to be a DSMer. I can without a doubt say I'm proud to be a member of this community..

As I was reading this thread, before learning of Wendy's passing - I was saying to myself, I don't care what my money situation is, whether or not I can afford to sleep in a motel - but I would drive down there from Iowa to meet Wendy and see her run the car. Again I have never met either of you, but when I read that she was lost my heart sank and I teared up. I'm not one to cry either, I accept things for what they are.. I've never cried at a funeral, although I'm sad I always say they're in a better place and God chose it as their time. However this was not Wendy's time. If I were at the funeral I probably would have cried.

Her legacy lives on among us and in her car... I'm sure she'll be with you inside the car when you make the pass - whether you can see her or not..

Much sympathy Brad...

Now...
Let's see a MEAN ####in DSM light up the track

I just wanted to take the time to say a few things that have already been said, but I want to reiterate them.

1) Wendy was a true DSM hero/legacy
2) She will be terribly missed, but never forgotten
3) Life is short/unfair, so live each day like it's your last

To Brad and family,

I can't begin to understand how you all feel, but I want to say thank you for your courage you have displayed and thank you for keeping Wendy's dream alive. I know I speak for everyone when I say we can't wait to see what the car can do and I'm sure it will have Wendy smiling from above.

I also included a few pics of the decals I just put on my car so people can see what they look like.
