Getting rid of the dragons...

If your car was wingless it would be sex rolling on wheels. That's just me though.

no keep the wing, it adds flair to the rear, or else the big asses of a 2g will look like its sagging.

too bad you couldnt shorten the wing, make the pillars that hold it up a little shorter to bring the curves closer to the trunk lid a bit, thatd look sweet.

and do people ever make fun of youre purple car? i have that charcoal lavender color thing and people always call it purple. i cant imagine what you got with a purple car, dragons and a wing. its still nice though.

O yeah, "lavender" is so much better than "purple". You betcha

What the hell is that thing on the back of his car? Pizza delivery rack?

its nice to see that mods can freely make fun of anyones car but when others do it, threads get locked and people banned :thumb: i guess thats why im not a mod tho, haha.

i think your car looks nice without the dragons on but there are lots of other vinyls that can look nice when done right.

Looks good without the stickers on it in my opinion. As for the wing, well i guess you could always back it up to a football game and use it for bleachers or something. But personally I would lose it.

I used to work at a sign fabrication shop and I dealt a lot with vinyl lettering and images. Congrats on the removal. It looks like it went very well. Something to be VERY careful of in the future is using heat guns. A hair dryer on its LOWEST setting is best. I use an industrial remover (but its the exact same thing as "Oops!"). DON'T USE A RAZOR BLADE! Anyways...I'm sure this was all obvious and I'm just bouncing this topic back to the top, but just wanted to let you all know these things.

I work at a sign shop and work with vinyl everday. Installation and removal. Like the previous post said NEVER USE A RAZOR BLADE!! Never use any kind of sharp metal object on your paint for that matter. I've seen semi trucks that look like the driver used a flat head screw driver to take his decals off. If you know what you're doing its not needed. To remove the decals the best/cheapest tool is your fingernails. Peel up a corner of the decal and start peeling. There are some tricks to peeling. Depending on the quality of the vinyl and/or its age it could be difficult to peel or could leave the glue. If it's leaving the glue try pulling several different ways. Sometimes a different angle or technique will allow the vinyl to come off with the glue. Something else that's helpful is doing this in warm weather. If the weather isn't the greatest try to do this in a heated garage and let the metal of the car warm up first. If you don't have access to a heated garage or even the warmth of the garage isn't quite enough a heat gun can be used. COMMON SENSE NEEDS TO BE USED WHEN DOING SO. Don't get the heat gun very close to the paint. The purpose of the heat gun is to heat up the vinyl and the surrounding metal. A good heat gun shouldn't need to be very close to do so. After the decals are off its time to clean the area. Our shop uses Denatured Alcohol for most cleaning off of glue residue. Denatured Alcohol is safe on the paint and can have many uses. I've used the alcohol to get bug guts, tar, and oil/grease(messy hands while working on my car which is white) off of my paint. If the alcohol isn't doing the trick we sometimes use a chemical called Goof-Off. CARE NEEDS TO BE USED WHEN USING GOOF-OFF. This is agressive enough to mess up paint. Especially if you're paint is old and not in the greatest condition. If you are still having problems getting the decals off don't be afraid of taking it to a sign/grafics shop for help. It might cost you a little bit, but its worth not screwing up your paint job. After the decal is removed there is usually some kind of discoloration from where the sun hasn't been getting to the paint. I'd start off by giving it a really good wax job and seeing where you're at after that. If it's still really pronounced your only options are to cover it back up with some sort of decal or have the car buffed. Before having the car buffed make sure the person doing the buffer knows what they are doing. It's really easy to screw up your paint with a buffer. Even if the person using the buffer knows what they are doing its still easy to go through the paint if there are thin spots. I hope this helps. I came across the thread and couldn't believe what was being said. Its not a hard process, but there are somethings people do because they are uninformed. I will try to do a HOW-TO write up later.
