Dear DSM people,

my name is Mathan and I live in Germany..
Last year I imported an 1997 Eclipse Turbo from California. Love that car.

Problem: I got that speed limit at 130 m/hour.
Since you can drive in Germany as fast as you want, that is not so funny..
Can I use HKS SLD (Speed Limit Defencer) or HKS FCD (Fuel Cut Defencer) ??

Already read the tech article, about ECU Manipulation. Don't wan't to fry it.

Anybody Please Help..Help...

thankyou very much

Wow, I sustained my Maxima at that speed for a good 15 minutes. No problems at all. (on a closed track of course) ;) Never had the opportunity to give my Talon a chance at those speeds.

Has to be fun on that autobahn, so can they mess with you for street racing there (like from a roll) and is there a lot of accidents?

Supposedly, there are less accidents over there than in the United States. In the January '07 issue of Sport Compact Car, James Tate reported 14.79 deaths per 100,000 drivers in the U.S. But in Germany, only 9.1 deaths to the 100,000. Little bit of trivia for ya... ;)

Anyways, on topic now... yes, the link housegsx already posted is the easiest and cheapest way to remove the FWD speed limiter. However, if you afraid of messing up your ECU, go with the 97-99 GSX ECU. Thats your next best bet.

I belive the deaths are only becourse here its not legal to pass any car in the right lane, so left lane is always faster than right (ok in traffic jams it doesn`t matter..)

and gas price is way t high to even think about a pedal to the metal autobahn-drive im just driving 70-90mph even if there is no speed limit.. ok its nice to push it sometimes.. but it is very hard to do this a long time.

I drove about 140 miles with the speedcontrol set to 120mph... and after that I was totaly wasted.. even if there was nearly no traffic... autobahn just isn`t a straight easy street to drive... most american highways are build WAY better to do this speed than the autobahn.

and I´ve tried both... (also have driven on a american highway with that speed.. ) and the highway was way easier to drive... but ## sweating way more because its not allowed :p

ok I didn`t drove the same time at this high speed at the highway as I did on the autobahn... but I still have my license ;)
