I'm looking into getting gauges for my car. I'm new to the gauge thing. I was going to get one for boost, air/fuel and im not too sure about the third one. I'm not trying to go too crazing in price about 100 for everything if possible. Which brand do you guys recommend? And for the third gauge?

You are going to be spending more than $100 on everything. Most gauges are the same so the only big difference is the looks. Pick out a gauge style/brand and just stick with those. I personally like the AEM wide-band and comes with a black and white face-plate to match the gauges you buy. For the third gauge, I would go oil pressure.

I would do oil pressure for the third one as well.

There are a lot of good gauges out there. When you find a set you like, find a few reviews on them. I chose Defi because of great reviews and haven't used anything else since. They're pretty expensive though.

I believe I posted something like this when I was noobstatus as well. The best answer I got was "if you don't know what your third gauge should be you probably don't need gauges to begin with" or something like "it depends on what you're using the car for" or maybe even "die in a fire". No wait, that was for a fourth gauge. Third gauge is oil pressure.

Was that a terrible post? I should probably just erase it or hit the BACK button and not bother, but I typed it, you're going to read it.

I think this may be the longest post you've ever written LOL

water temp is always valuable to know

Completely forgot about water temp. Good suggestion. That stock analog gauge we have seems a little iffy sometimes.

Stock water gauge isn't super useful for knowing exact temps but it shows you if you're overheating or not, that's all I need the gauge to do, if I need to get exact temps I'll be logging. Oil pressure on the other hand is nice to have a reliable number for.

I would also have to go with oil pressure. And I hope by air/fuel you meant a wideband. Those can be a little pricey, but well worth every penny. Don't go out and buy a air/fuel that's not a wideband or else it's just a light show.

How are prosport gauges? I really like the evo series.

I would go with oil psi for a third. I am going to be doing 4 gauges though. 2 I already got, WB and boost. Then since I'll be installing a new engine soon, I am adding oil psi, and coolant temp. So I have exact numbers. I had always done those 2 on a rebuild or new engine if it didn't have them already. I dont want to be guessing at what my numbers are on a brand new engine. Also they are all prosport evos in my car. I love them. They look great and readings seem accurate. The boost is spot on with my map sensor as well. Get gauges and prety well priced as well.
