gauge electircal hookup

I am hooking up the lights on my boost and egt gauges and saw that an easy place to tap in is the cigarette lighter light. Is it the stripped green or black wire coming from the light that I tap into? And can I just tap the power supply for the egt gauge right into the ecu? I saw on vfaq that pin 25 was a 12v power supply. heres what I found

Black, as almost always, is ground. Surely you're not attempting this job without $3 worth of test light?

Robbing the ECU of any kind of power isn't a good idea.

the ONLY power / ground you want to get from the ECU is for a/f. for the lights use a test like like defient said. (green/white should be + )

IMO it would be a PIA to wire the gauges all the way to the lighter. I just took the cover off the stock gauges and spliced into wires from the dimmer switch. That way I had them run under the dash and you cant see the wires at all. It was super easy and the wires and really short.

i always found that tapping into the parking light was the best way to go
