2G Gates Racing timing belt any good?

Just bought a gates racing timing belt and balance shaft belt kit, it was $230, i got it for $190.. are these belts worth the money?..

A "Gate's brand" belt is close to the "Top Of The List!"

The normal gates is one of the best you can get and the kit with both belts all 3 pullies is around 80 bucks.

Change that tensioner while your there and look for any leaks, water pump is a great thing cheap insurance.

I guess it was so much ### its the top of the line belt from gates, oil and heat resistant.. im changing idler puller, timing belt, water pump, tensioner and balance belt

Ah Gottcha. I'd highly recommend the jays racing timing belt tool kit if your
Doin it yourself. Def makes he job a lot easier. Good luck!

if you got the pulley's, tensioner and waterpump with it its not a bad deal. i think my oem setup cost about that much from extremepsi

Just put one on my 4g63t that's out of the car and was a pita compared to regular timing belts for these motors. They are pretty stiff which probably makes them nice and strong. Definitely worth it if you plan on doing mods.

Didnt come with anything but the 2 belts.. i was told these are definitely the way to go with self conflicting engines.. spend the extra $100 now and save a $2000 head job down the road..

I just bought the jays racing timing belt bigdoug. I'm building a 6 bolt engine myself but haven't got to the timing part yet. I hope I dont mess anything up.

The timing belt is easy. Just make sure you tension it correctly.
