Gas Tank Shield

My gas tank shield is rusting and falling off do I need this ?

It is not a "need" per say but it does protect the tank from debris and if anything flies up under the car from puncturing it.

Just for general information, 2g gst gas tanks are metal. 2g awd gas tanks are a thick plastic. I would be less weary taking the cover off a fwd than the awd.

I will say I wish 1G's had them. At least I have never seen one on a 1G. My exhaust came apart a while back and put a hole in my gas tank. Not very fun.
