gas tank cleaning

so im in the process of replacing my gas tankin my 90 tsi awd, the tank i got had alot of build up. i guess you could call it sludge/deposits/gunk.....whatever you wanna call it, so now im trying to clean the inside of it out, im just wondering what other DSMers have found to be useful wehn doing this

if you have access to a power washer that's what my friend used to clean his out. Of course you have to drop the fuel tank to do that though.

You can use muriatic acid. It can be found in pool supply stores.

We removed one today and scrubbed it in a parts cleaner. Worked fine and the solution is water based so its not flammable.
