So a hose came off the BOV so I was putting it back on and I was moving around the front mount tubes just pushing them to the side a bit. So I jumped in start the car and now the pedal is stuck down. I did this about 10 minutes ago and I was just really tired from work so I just decided to deal with it tomorrow after work. Anyone have a picture of what I might have hit to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When you disconnected the line from the pedal to the the box, did the pedal become loose or was it still tight?

it was never tight, it's always been loose, when I disconnected it it was still loose. When I disconnected it I stretched it out and hung it over a nut. I then went inside the car and the peddle was hard again.

So I came home and the peddle isn't floppy it's pretty much tight I tried following the lines but they're covered in padding.

Ok, now I'm confused. I thought you said it was tight before, meaning the pedal was hard to move.

Can you explain what the problem is again? LOL

The peddle is loose, you can see that in the one picture. So up at that junction box there is slack on that cable from the peddle to the box. So I'm trying to get rid of that little amount of slack. Until then the car is wide open so when the car starts it automatically red lines.

It still sounds like the cable from the pedal to the box is binding up inside the box, or the track is stuck for some reason. Did you try adjusting the nut on that cable at the box according to the pictures in post 20?

Now I'm really starting to run out of ideas

Try removing the cable where it goes through the firewall and look for anything abnormal. I don't know what could go wrong there, but, I like I said, I'm running out of ideas.

You will have to release the cable from the pedal by removing the round yellow clip with pliers (PITA to do). Then remove the two 10mm bolts that hold the cable plate to the firewall.

I think I had to use a combination of a flathead screwdriver and needle nose pliers to get it out. But I wasn't worried about destroying it in the process either.

Im a bit worried about destroying it HAHA. Last night my gas petal decided it wanted to stay it. When I lifted the hood. The throttle was cocked half way. ODD. So I pushed it back with ease. I tried to tighten the cables. Same thing to no avail. Today (right now actually) I have to body off and the spring on the throttle seems fine. SO I am taking the cabled and rerunning them. Everything seems fine so this is odd. My cruise control died about 5 months ago, but could that even affect this?

So I got the yellow thing. Flat head worked amazingly. BUT NOW. I am trying to get those bolts without moving the wiper fluid >_<. This should be fun. Also any suggestions what is wrong with the vehicle form the post before this or Most likely the throttle?

It was a serious pain in the ass when I removed mine. I never had to remove anything to unhook the cable, I just got an extension for my ratchet. I ended up getting a used throttle cable from a friend and that corrected the problem. I didn't think it was binding anywhere but it was somewhere. As soon as I put that new one in problem corrected

You just unhook it from your petal and from your cruise box. Then you undue the mount that mounts to your firewall and pull it through into your engine bay. Then when you get the new one just feed that yellow ball through the fire wall and hook it back on your petal and screw it back into the fire wall and hook it back into the cruise box. It's actually not too hard believe it or not. I was kinda scared but it's harder to get the old one out.

I love this Forum. >..> You can see people terrified to do something, then when they do it, it's "Hey, that wasn't hard at all!" and then you can almost see their confidence start growing. ROFL

I had Similar issues when I bought mine, it was maladjusted. ( <--- Interesting word, No?)

Mine wouldn't go to WOT. I had like 60%

If someone has this cable new or used in good condition. 50$ from me and my love :D. The one I pulled out was splitting and frayed in that area. What happened was the frayed area was sticking in the tubing for the cable and made me keep accelerating. FUN!

PS im in the tristate area.

Your best bet might just be going to car-part.com and searching in your area for yards that have an eclipse sitting around and you could pull one off of. Or posting in the wanted ads.
