hye guys i have a question on the galant VR-4 engines imported for japan to north america...i got one of these engines for my talon and it is the big 16g with yellow top injectors and red valve cover ..i was wondering if all these engines were 6 bolts from the year 91-93 all of them no matter the variation they came in ...and was any of these engines in japan were 7 bolt in the galant VR-4 ...any info would help...thanks guys.:D:D:thumb::talon:

Not sure about the 6/7 bolt question you had, but i did have a "cyclone Japenese motor" in one of my cars once and never ran right. Personally i would recomend swapping out the intake manifold from a 1g. If your getting the motor in and your not sure if its a 6 or 7 bolt motor, you could just look at the engine where the clutch mounts to and see how many bolts are at the rear main. Most standard 4G63 engines that were expected to come to America were 6 bolt until mid '92 with some exceptions. Don't be scared though, the 1g 7bolts are very strong and reliable and have very few cases of crank walk. I would think internally the GVR4 engines should be the same. Hope this helps some.

sounds like a good buy with the b16g and 510cc. Yeah as far as cyclone intake. you can either swap your usdm intake or actuate the cyclone. You can have it coded into your ecu. ive seen people use a spare wastegate actuator to open. there are a few options, search that one out
dont know for sure about the 6/7 bolt question, but most likely a 91 will be 6 and if its changed over like t/e/l than it would be a mid to late 92 switchover
