####. That.

You cant make a quality forged crank for 185 dollars. It takes that much in materials if not more.

However, I would LOVE to be wrong. That is a hell of a price.

I was thinking the same thing. Eagle and Scat can't even retail a small block Chevy forged crank for twice that amount - and that's for an engine that been around for more than a half century.

Anybody already running one of these?

Its not forged. They sell forged cranks for $350-400

My guess is this "Brand New Crankshaft by JE Performance.", is a Chinese knockoff. I dont think JE Performance even exists. I think they are intentionally trying to make them sound like they were made by JE Pistons, and they dont make anything but pistons.

so does anyone know if it's as good as a stock one or am i asking for trouble?
Unless fifty people come into this thread claiming they've put 50K on one of these and had no issues, I'd rather spend the money on a used stock crank and know that it's going to function just fine. Just my .02.

well i have posted twice a wtb good used crank and for 1 month straight i got replies from people promising pic's and they never came through. they just kept leading me on and nothing. some of these member's don't need to be. thier just out for thier own.

I would stay away from it. Notice how they list very little info about the manufacturing of the crank. I doubt its even got the titanium nitride coating.

As for finding a used one, your options at the junkyard should be wide open.
7-bolt cranks shouldnt be hard to find since they have been used in so many engines. Supposedly all 7 bolt crankshafts are interchangable.

Heck try some of this sites supporting vendors. DSMgraveyard and Mitsubishigraveyard should have one. Might cost a bit more, but if its your only option...

I know this is an old thread... But I would like to throw my opinion and my story...

I bought one of these cranks... Installed it along with Clevite Main and Rod Bearings, Wiseco Pistons 85.5mm and 9:1 CR, and Eagle H rods...

According to the machine shop, piston skirt were .004" Piston To Wall Clearance, and the bearings to crank oil clearance were .002"... I used Mobil 1 Full Syntetic 10w40 Oil all the time...

4000 miles later, I spun a bearing! I don't know how yet....

I took everything back to the machine shop to have them check everything again... So far they are telling me the coating of the crank failed and now the Bearings to Crank Oil Clearance is .005"

I need to double check, but so far the only evidence of the spun bearing is the quality of this JE crank...

I won't give this crank another try, I'm looking for an used one...

My 2 cents...
