i have a 90' galant gsx with the 2.0 non turbo 4g63 engine. it runs fine at idle. when i drive it it feels like it hits fuel cut at 4k rpms. i changed the alternator, new spark plugs, differnet wires, and i checked the ecu (havent replaced it yet but i looked at it and it looked fine). any suggestions on what may be wrong? thanks.

When was the last time you changed the fuel filter or the o2 sensor? I know that on my integra back in the day, it would start to bog at mid to high RPM's and I changed those and the problem went away. I dont know which one fixed it though.

I would say, if you have not done the fuel filter in a while, do that first since its cheapest, then if that doesnt do it, move to the o2.

forgot to mention that i changed the fuel filter. would the fuel pump cause a problem like this? i thought about the o2 sensor but im not getting a check engine light at all. shouldnt i?

Does it stutter/misfire or is it a true violent fuel cut? Did you gap your new plugs correctly?

i did gap the plugs. ill double check them. its not just a stutter. it cuts out at around 4k rpm's and wont go any higher.
