i have looked and i couldn't really find what i was looking for so please inform me if there is a post about this. i am looking to convert my awd tsi 5speed too a fwd speed for my own reasons . now is it possible? i have a stock 1991 talon tsi awd. thanks

you could just throw a fwd tranny in there if you had a fwd flywheel and starter plate, and remove the drive shaft

so the awd flywheel wont work? and the drive shaft is out. i am only doing this because i do not have money to buy a new awd transmission . i have already dropped $400 on the motor to get it running . its only temporary. :thumb:

well i know some guy thats selling a complete turbo fwd engine and transmission. i am most likely going to drop the whole thing in . i am just wondering if the front axles will go in or what other mods i would have to do to get it on the road.

You need the Front Wheel Axles as well.

FW Axles,
FW Starter,
FW Flywheel,
FW Starter Plate, and
FW Tranny.

After you locate and buy all the parts, it's probably easier getting your AWD transmission rebuilt. I had a local shop do mine. It was about $600 with labor, new sychros, bearings, and new dual syncronized 2nd gear with hub and slider. Chances are, that another transmission you buy from a 1g will be notchy and have grinds. Every 1g DSM I've ever owned does, and every transmission I have bought used to replace with have always been gone through.

yea this is the second transmission that took a dump on me . i need a car to get too work and this is the easiest and cheapest way i think i could find. i have 2 i can get rebuilt i am not sure which one ,but 1 of them none the less. thanks for the help:thumb:
