i got a 2g gst with a 14b at 17psi, and blow thru, exhaust, fmic, blah blah, some decent mods. this is the first fwd car i've had with any real power, and i suck at launching. last night at the track i ran a 14.4 at 101mph, with a 60ft time of 2.4. i KNOW i should be a mid 13sec. car with my mods and those traps, but i'm BURNING the tires all through first and half of second. i have stock wheels, tires, and suspension. i've read on here of guys just feathering the clutch in first, and not going w.o.t. in first or most of second, but what they never post what kind of 60ft times they get doing this. untill i have the money for motor mounts, wheels tires suspension, etc, can anybody who uses the method of launching i described above post some of their 60ft times? advice? also, i read so much crap about tires, (i AM buying tires this week) and it all confuses me, and i read so many conflicting things. i got the 16x6 stock chrome wheels, i know enough to understand that the widest tire i can get on is the most surface area, and best for traction, but i've read that a 225 50 16 is GOOD and i've read that its BAD. the tire place i'm talking to says it'll be good. i've also read that my wheels weigh 21 pounds, and i've read my wheels weigh 16 pounds. i know this is the internet, and it's got a lot of mis information, but if any wiseman are reading this, or can help, please do. thanks.

All the tire in the world won't make you a better driver. First learn how to drive on what you have, then get more advanced. When you start cutting decent short times go out and upgrade you tire/rim combo to suit your needs.

ya man 17psi on a 14b is a good amount of boost...dont launch hard at all, maybe dont even, i would just make sure u stay on the ground in first...and maybe not ever hit full boost...and then from 2nd gear on just let your cars speed take over and rip it down the track...ur trapping at 101...which is definately a 13 sec car
