Alright...my friends tranny on his 92 fwd turbo is stuck in 3rd....took the tranny off ...took the end casing off..shift fork is still in tact. Clutch isnt shot its an exedy but one of the springs is very loose? I have no idea what is wrong please help me out here.

Does the shifter still move inside the car? You can't really see the shift fork from the end casnig, only the shift rail. Most likely if he was shifting hard and missed a gear at higher rpms and he tried shoving it in really hard then he probably broke a shift fork.

I broke a shift fork in my fwd 5 speed the other night, i'm pulling the tranny today to fix it.

Well thats the thing....u can move the shifter in the car into exery gear...ive broken forks before and know that when u brake one that the shifter ususally wont move.
