Hi!

I am currently looking into changing the little 14b sitting in the engine. My choices are as follows:

1. T04B V-trim from bullseye $579 base price
2. SBR-G50 $799 base price
3. t04b package $825

with the last it's internally gated. From what i've read these turbos aren't as prone to creep as the 16g's so internally gated should be fine. But with for example the bullseye it costs an additional 125$ which could be spent for an external wg setup.

Then again if i want to go externally gated i need to get the manifold flanged and since i'm in norway it would be cheaper to buy f.ex a sbr manifold and have sbr flange it for an external WG instead of sending my 1g manifold to get it done.

So basically what would be ideal for me is to get everything from one vendor to save on the shipping(120$ just for the turbo). Given my conditions i think ordering a sbr-g50,sbr mani w\ext wg flange would be the best solution.

on the other side i could go with the bullseye route internally gated: 579+125in wg+ 30 watercooled+ 130 oil feed\return: 864 or the same from TSF for 825$..hmmm

Also i've heard people with 1g's complaining about clearance..i have a 6-bolt but its in a 2g..will i have fitment issues?

what i want is to have this bolt up to my fmic...do i need the 90 degree elbow then?

long and messy post i know.

hmm...well maybe my first post was a bit confusing and messy. What i was wondering was the following:

  • Is boost creep an issue with such turboes as the sbr-g50 and the t04b v-trim
  • would internal wg work well with either of them
  • It seems the t04b v-trim is much more afordable and still a strong turbo with decent spool-up am i correct
  • Do i have enough supporting mods for any of these turbos
  • Which of the two is most streetable

Any replies are greatly apperciated.

Best regards

You have 660s on a 14b? Why? I can understand having all the mods ready to go, which is what I hope you implied by having it in your car profile...

As far as supporting mods, I think you are fine, just need a data logger if you don't have one. Spend the money on the logger before the turbo though.

i bought the car with the current mods. The guy i bought it from was doing supporting mods for a bigger turbo. As far as loggers go i will def have one before putting the turbo in but that is another issue. Any opinions on the turbo? From what i read the t04b v-trim flows a little less than the sbr-g50 correct? I was wondering how spool up would be with the t04b compared to the sbr-g50.

Best regards
Tobias

i had a vtrim, no problems at all with boost creep, top end power was great with the vtrim, simial to the 50 trim pte/76 i have now, but it spooled slow, pte 50 trim spools faster, the vtrim just has to big of a exh wheel.
