Yo guys...getting ready to order my motor rebuild kit from Slowboy...but I have a couple questions. First off, how big of oversized pistons do I need? What makes the big difference between the piston size or whatever? Also, what bearing do you think I should get?

Just fyi - the piston offer size is Standard, .20 over, or .40 over
and the bearing size is Standard, .10 over, or .20 over.
Thanks :dsm:

I would go with .20 over to make more power then stock. This is also good because if you ever need to rebuild again you can get .40 the second time around.

Take your crank down to a good machine shop and they will tell you what size bearings you need. Get a qoute for all the work they will do. My machine shop costs were like $700 but they decked the block and head, did a complete valve job, mated my ross pistons to my 1g rods, bored .20 over, hot tanked the head and block, painted the block, installed some helacoils in the exhuast manifold stud holes in the head, pulled some stripped bolts in the block, and whatever else I forgot to mention.

So your stuff probly wont need all that done so figure the cost to be considerably less.
