I have searched everywhere and have found nothing usefell. im doing an engine rebuild and would like to hear from somebody who has a direct experience with a topline engine rebuild kit.

I used the rebuild kit.. had every gasket needed bearings, and rings, nice kit..

I used the re-ring kit not the gold kit

How did you like it? I'm thinking of using this kit as well.

Matt.

im running topline pistons in my 1g its held 25psi on my 20g for about 5000 mi.
just so you know the topline 2G pistons are actually 7:8:1 93/94 pistons.
Rock makes 8:5:1 pistons though:thumb:

good luck:D

i am also doing a rebuild on a 6blt and am thinking about using a topline kit. i am not sure if i need new pistons and rings yet but if i do, a topline kit sounds prety appealing. the gaskets sound like a good deal though.
i would realy like to hear frome more people too about the quality of the pistons and rings.

I used one on my 7-bolt when i had it and it was missing 2 turbo gaskets and the turbo mounting gasket belw out in a week. Other than that no problems.

Poor

i used it when i had my 92 tsi fwd (6 bolt) and it held up well. though the car was stock and was only used for getting me to work and back and groceries and shit. i sold the car after about 5000 miles so i can't say how well it lasted in the long run. for a stock rebuild they are good.

Im just wondering if this rebuild kit is going to hold mild horsepower ( a little above 400hp). This is one of the toughest decisions i have ever had to make. Go oem on oil pump and gaskets, then hi-lo/o'reilly for bearings and rings...or go topline. Slowboy reccomended them, and plenty of people say they are oem specified.
