I finished the fmic on the AWD today. Earlier, before I put the bumper back on I took it around the block and it turned over really hard, like there was no charge on the battery, started turning faster then started. i spooled it up one last time before turning into my driveway and it died. She started right back up so I thought maybe with the bumps one of the clamps loosened up, none did. I put the bumper back on just a bit ago, was going to go for a little drive so I could log the difference of the fmic/stock and took off from the light, into second under right around 15lbs and I heard a loud pop. I turned onto a side road and took a look, figured a coupler blew off but nothing..... it would start and idle extremely low, factory boost gauge showed it topped out, pillar gauge(tee'd into rail regulator) showed nothing. I walked like 10 blocks home, grabbed another car and went back to look with a flashlight. I looked at every junction and found nothing, I was going to start it again to see if I could hear a leak so I did so, started right up and idled perfect, both boost gauges fluctuated perfect, I got out and listened under the hood, found nothing. I moved the other car and got back in the awd, went up a block, turned around and got up to the stop sign and it died again. I hooked up the laptop to see if link could pickup any codes but got nothing......
It ran normal for a bit after it cooled off so it shouldnt be any one the fmic/piping. when i heard the pop it sounded like it came from the center or right side of the car. i felt inside the bov, piston is still sealed. the wg seems to be in the right position..... im just lost. I cant see a bcs or egr poping like that, it was frickin loud. I dont know whether or not the hard cranking is related but it just started today and i had it disconnected while installing all the piping. i cant think of a reason for that to happen out of the blue...... When it was idling low i could hear a buzzing/ticking above the fuel injectors, wasn't the pulsing of them, not a noise ive heard before. anyone heard of a similar situation? Its got me lost.
