I started to rewire my fuel pump today and I ran into a, lets just call it a snag. I found the grommet that I am supposed to pass my main wire though is off, don't ask why I got the car used. The grommet itself was off the plastic piece that attaches to the fire wall. I tried for 2 hours and could not get that piece on. My question is, is there a trick to getting this grommet on this plastic piece or am I fu..ed? BTW I am using the vfaq.com- raktron page for the info. I'm ready to just goop it with silicone. Any help would be great. Peace.

It would pop into place if it the plastic piece was inside the grommet. But it's not. There is nothing damaged that I can see.

I just pass mine through the steering boot. Have boost gauge and wideband going through it. No leaks or anything.

I'm not completely sure I see the problem here. A small assortment of grommets are cheap (depending on which ones you choose). Go down to your local NAPA/CAPS/Autozone/car-parts-store/Home Depot and pick some up. Then finish the install.

Quick question I am busy installing a second walbro inline so figured I need to rewire both pumps. Can I just run one 10G wire to both pumps, or one 10G to each pump or a thicker single wire and then split it by the pump?

I would try to run two ten gauge wires. One to each pump. Running a 10g to both pumps is like running two 20g wires to each. I would just use two wires from the battery and keep it simple in case you run into electrical problems later.

ya you want to keep them on seperate relays with at least a 12 gauge wire.

So stick the two wires instead of running one say.....6G and split it at the pumps? Two relays is going to be a pain but I do have two with the harnesse laying around that I can put to use.

remember that the higher the strand count in the wire the more current it can flow cause voltage moves on the outside of the strand not the whole thing.

Yeah I ended up using 2-10G pieces each with there own relay if for one day I run into high idle pressure I can install a pressure switch for the second pump. But now I am second guessing the inline pump bc I heard they wine waaaay more than an intank one!
