Fuel Pump Rewire Shut Off Switch

I understand how the whole fuel pump rewire works, and have read the tech articles here and on vfaq.com. I read, however, that there is a way to put a switch on the ground wire that would not allow the pump to work unless the switch was on. Basically, a shut off switch to prevent theft. Does anyone know if this would work and how to go about doing it? Thanks in advance.

Real simple, if you put a switch in the ground wire for the relay, the fuel pump relay won't ever turn on when the switch is off because the relay coil will never have any current going through it.

There are other reasons to do a cut off switch on the fuel pump, for one thing it makes compression checking a 2nd gen much easier.
